CAD/CAM Restorations
CAD/CAM technology is a system we use for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing of restorations. The state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology provides us with extremely precise digital models of a patient's teeth so we can create an accurate, personalized restoration that will guarantee optimum results.
Best of all, we can fit the restoration faster and easier, which means you'll only have one office visit as opposed to the traditional two.
First, we will take a detailed 3-D image of your teeth. Once the image appears on the screen, we are able to use a wide range of computer diagnostic tools to manipulate your virtual 3-D model to create a personalized restoration. This digital method has proven far more effective than the plaster models once used.
Benefits of CAD/CAM Restorations
- Very accurate
- Generally only require one appointment
- Restorations are made with tooth-colored materials
- Allows for more of the healthy tooth structure to stay in tact
This is just one of the ways we strive to stay on the cutting-edge of the latest technological advancements in the dental field. For more information about CAD/CAM technology, please contact us.
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography, also known as digital X-rays. A wireless sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image in 30 seconds as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These X-rays can also be enhanced on the computer and enlarged.
Not only are they friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays. Digital radiographs reduce radiation exposure by 90 percent!
Soft Tissue Lasers
We use laser dentistry in our practice for soft tissue procedures. The lasers used are narrow beams of light energy that can penetrate the tissue, producing the ability to vaporize, remove or shape soft tissues such as the gums, cheeks and tongue.
Lasers are extremely versatile and can be used to perform a number of procedures including:
- Crown lengthening to improve your smile
- Sterilizing areas infected with bacteria
- Removing gum tissue without cutting
Using laser dentistry as opposed to other forms of surgery does have its advantages. Lasers can control the amount of bleeding during the treatment and can sometimes remove gum tissue without causing bleeding. In laser dentistry, there may also be less swelling and pain following the surgery as the laser can seal blood vessels and nerve endings.
Power whitening makes it possible to achieve a whiter, brighter smile right here in our office.
How It Works
A special light is shined onto the teeth after they have been coated with a whitening gel. The light works with the gel to release oxygen. The oxygen penetrates the outer enamel layer and then the dentin layer of the teeth, bleaching away stains and discolored areas.
Power whitening is a safe and effective technology that can help give you a beautiful, new smile, all in one appointment.
